The city of San Jose and San Jose State University share the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library, which is located on the campus of San Jose State University in downtown San Jose. The King Library is the first partnership of its kind between a university and a large U.S. city, and it has received multiple awards, including the Library Journal’s 2004 Library of the Year award, the publication’s highest distinction.
