Originally known as San Jose Arena and the HP Pavilion at San Jose, the SAP Center at San Jose is an indoor arena in San Jose, California. Its major tenant is the National Hockey League’s San Jose Sharks, for whom the arena has earned the moniker “The Shark Tank.” Plans for a San Jose arena began in the mid-1980s, when Fund Arena Now was founded by a group of local residents (FAN).
